Attack on Enugu community leads to death of 2 and many others kidnapped.


A recent attack which occurred on Enugu State by some suspected gunmen/kidnappers has led to the death of 2 people and many others have been kidnapped.
These kidnappers killed 2 people and abducted many others in this community in Enugu State.

The incident occured on Friday evening, August 12 2023. This was at Neke which is on Ugwogo-Neke-Ikem Road in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area in Enugu.

The people who were taken away have not been confirmed yet but there were quite a number of them. The whereabouts of both the suspects and the victims are also still unknown.

An eyewitness had revealed to some news men on Saturday saying this occurred friday night between 7:30 and 8pm.
He shared that the suspects had been shooting indiscriminately at some vehicles on the road. Their aimless shootings killed 2 persons.

These suspects also went ahead to kidnapp the passengers of a bus that was onroute Enugu-Ugwogo-Neke-Ikem Road. They had shot a the tires of the vehicle till it went flat and then took them away.

One of the victims that was killed has been identified as Chief Cyril Mbah who is from Neke Odenigbo-Nike. He was killed around Ugwogo/Isi-uzo Road which is close to Neke Odenigbo junction in the area.

This chief had been on the way home with his daughter in his car when he was suddenly shot. The kidnappers had opened fire on his vehicle when they saw him coming. The man didn't survive the bullets working and died. His daughter however was unhurt.

The police spokesperson in the state, Daniel Ndukwe, was contacted about this incident which he said he would verify. Further details later.
