Auto Crash in Kwara state claims 10 lives


An auto crash which occurred in kwara state recently has claimed 10 lives. It was the Kwara Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who revealed this incident.

He revealed that 10 people had died in this accident which occurred on Thursday night. He mentioned that the accident happened at Ile Pupa area on Jebba-Bode Saadu Expressway in Kwara State.

He says it was a multiple accident that led to the death of 10 people. He revealed this in a statement which was issued in Ilorin. This was issued by the Sector Commander, Mr Frederick Ogidan. They revealed this to newsmen yesterday, Friday.

He revealed that this accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. The cause of the accident was overspeeding and wrong overtaking

There had been 17 people in total who were involved in this accident but 10 died.
Out of the 17 people, 12 were males, 2 were females and then 3 were children.

He also revealed that 3 vehicles were involved in the accident. They were a Toyota Corolla car, a petrol tanker and a bus.
The petrol tanker belongs to DANMARNA Petroleum Ltd.

He revealed that the victims who survived were injured seriously in the crash and they were taken to the hospital for treatment.

He revealed that they were also able to recover a total of N60,750 cash from the accident scene.

He mentioned that they have deposited the corpses at the mortuary in the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).

He then added that the Police officers from the Jebba Divisional Unit have taken into their custody the vehicles involved in the accident.

He went ahead to advise motorists to beware of overspeeding and wrongful overtaking.
