The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arraigned a bank manager and 2 others for allegedly stealing 55m. This happened on Tuesday, 21st of March 2023.

The man who is Kichime Gomwalk, is the branch manager of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and the other 2 men are Michael Damkas Buayam and Abbas Andrew Dayilim.

They were brought before Justice P. S. Gang of the Plateau State High Court in Jos.
This was on a five-count charge which broaders on stealing, cheating and obtaining N55,000.000 (Fifty Five Million Naira) by false pretense.

This man, Kichime Gomwalk, allegedly forged COCIN GRATUITY CERTIFICATE OF PLEDGE/LETTER OF SET-OFF which was dated for the 30th of DECEMBER, 2019, and this was purportedly co-signed by Mrs. Monica Bitrus Tang and Rev (Dr.) Amos Musa Mohzo, Directors. He used this to secure overdraft facility from FCMB Plc for N55, 000.000.00 (Fifty-Five Million Naira).

He did all these while he was serving as the brand manager for FCMB in Jos.

The charge was read to them and these men pleaded 'not guilty'.

Mr Uwaise Yusuf who is the prosecution counsel, urged the court to remand the defendants and then fix a date for the trial.

The judge has adjourned the case till the 18th of May, 2023. He has also ordered the remand of the defendants at the Jos Correctional Center until the hearing of their bail applications.
