In addition to her statement, Kayode Fagbemi, Director of NSCC's Active Ageing and Support Services, highlighted the three beneficial areas, that each multi-purpose ID card would serve.
According to him, each identification card would serve as a bank card, senior citizens card, and national identity card for all senior citizens in Nigeria.
He further emphasized that senior citizens should be entitled to enjoy travel benefits and discounts on domestic flights.
He said separate counters and queues be put in place to attend to their travel needs, especially when booking tickets.
Fagbemi also stated that the objective of setting up the round-table meeting is to reach a consensus on the designs of the proposed cards and create awareness to enlighten the senior citizens which the cards are intended for.
