Nigerian politician and singer Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W is over the moon as the election tribunal instructs INEC to hold a rerun of Eti-Osa constituency election.
The National Assembly election tribunal ruled over the victory of Thaddeus Atta as the winner of the election to be the representative for Eti-Osa constituency.
The election was termed inconclusive because voting didn't take place at all polling units in the constituency.
As a result, the tribunal has told the electoral body INEC to hold a rerun in all 32 polling units where voting didn't take place in the next three months.
Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro of APC and Bankole Wellington of PDP both filed a petition against the election results after Thaddeus Atta of LP was announced the winner of the election.
Banky W took to his social media handle to express how excited he was for the rerun. He wrote, "It's possible. Still."
Thaddeus Atta also clarified via X that contrary to popular opinion, he wasn't sacked. He said the tribunal only ordered a supplementary election in polling units where voting didn't take place.
