Bayern Leverkusen have equaled Bayern Munich's all-time German football record for the longest unbeaten run in all competitions.

Xabi Alonso's side have been fabulous this term, exuding their brilliance and delineating quality from the beginning of the season until this point.

The Bay Arena side have been sublime this campaign, with the players who have been monstrous this term being linked to bigger clubs.

Manager Xabi Alonso has also caught the eye of several big clubs in Europe, including; Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Bayer Leverkusen's amazing season is gradually spiraling towards the likelihood of ending the Bavarians' run of 11 league titles in a row, as they are 8 points clear at the summit of the Bundesliga table.

On February 10, 2024, Bayern Munich lost embarrassingly 3-0 to Bayer Leverkusen and that indeed resulted in the title narrative tilting a bit towards Xabi Alonso's side.

Following their 2-1 victory over FC Heidenheim, it came to the fore that they had gone on a 32-game unbeaten run across all competitions, equalling the record of German giants Bayern Munich.

The Munich-based club went unbeaten in 32 consecutive matches under the tutelage of Hansi Flick from 2019 to 2020.

Jeremie Frimpong and Amine Adli netted for the Black and Reds in stoppage time of the first 45 and the 81st minute respectively, before the home side halved the deficit in the 87th minute through a Tim Kleindienst header.

It is expected that they experience a shakeup in the summer, with several top teams looking to poach many of their amazing players this campaign.

Florian Wirtz, Amine Adli, Jeremie Frimpong, and Victor Boniface are some notable players of the team who have been courted by top clubs in Europe.

Staggeringly, Bayern Leverkusen have also scored 95 goals this campaign - a figure that is indeed humongous.

Anyway, they are aiming for their first German Bundesliga title this campaign, having ended the season as runners-up in 1996-97, 1998-99, 1999-2000, 2001-02 and 2010-11.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich can reduce their deficit on Bayer Leverkusen with a win against VFL Bochum on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

Moreover, Xabi Alonso's side welcome Mainz 05 to the Bay Arena on Friday, February 23, 2024.

They will be looking to consolidate their lead at the summit of the log, given Bayern Munich's frailties in the league this season.

Thomas Tuchel hasn't been able to engineer the Bavarian giants towards success this season, with the team eyeing the possibility of ending the season trophyless.

Harry Kane's charge for a major silverware at Bayern Munich might not come this term, given the club's woes this season.

It will be intriguing to see how the season pans out, with several teams aiming to reach different heights.
