Jan-Christian Dreesen has expressed that Thomas Tuchel's job as manager of Bayern Munich is under no threat whatsoever.

Dressen made this assertion after he watched the Bundesliga champions lose 3-0 to Bayern Leverkusen at the Bay Arena.

Xabi Alonso's side went in front through Josip Stanisic, with the on-loan Bayern Munich man netting against his parent club.

Five minutes into the second period, Alejandro Grimaldo doubled the lead for the league leaders, before Jeremie Frimpong scored the culminating goal 5 minutes into stoppage time.

The victory took Bayern Leverkusen 5 points clear of Bayern Munich, with both clubs having 55 and 50 points respectively.

Die Werkself have secured 4 points out of a possible 6 against the defending champions, and it appears they could be claiming the league title off the chokehold of the Bavarians.

Bayern Munich have won 11 Bundesliga titles on the trot, and their dominance has also transcended into Europe, with them winning the UEFA Champions League twice in a decade. (2013 and 2020).

Despite the signing of Harry Kane, Kim Min-Jae, Konrad Laimer, and Eric Dier to fill the void in notable areas of the team, they have failed to reach the heights expected of them this campaign.

Speaking concerning the managerial position at Bayern Munich and if Thomas Tuchel's spot as manager is safe, Dressen said:

“Nothing has changed. Deserved defeat today but we won't give up, we keep going”.

Tuchel was appointed manager of the Bavarians in March 2023, replacing Julian Nagelsmann, who was dismissed due to internal issues.

Thomas Tuchel struggled to help the club win the German Bundesliga last season, as they stumbled their way through the dying embers of the season.

Fortunately, they were assisted by Borussia Dortmund, who “bottled” the league title when it mattered most.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich were also bundled out of the DFB Pokal this campaign by 3rd-division club Saarbrücken.

It will be interesting to see how they fare in the remainder of matches in the 2023/24 German Bundesliga season, competing against an unbeaten Bayern Leverkusen.

Thomas Tuchel has over time received criticisms for his manner of handling the Bavarian giants, with February 10, 2024, being no exception.

Anyway, the German tactician has won several notable trophies, including; 3 League titles, 1 DFB-Pokal, and 1 UEFA Champions League.

If he fails to guide Bayern Munich to the German Bundesliga title this term, he will infamously become the first manager since Jupp Heynckes in the 2011/12 season not to win the league crown.

Anyway, Thomas Tuchel's side return to action on February 14, 2024, facing Lazio, in a Round of 16 UEFA Champions League encounter.

Bayern Munich last won the Champions League title in the 2019/20 season and they will be hoping to get their hands on the continental crown this term.
