Eric Bailly is a free agent again as Besiktas have terminated his contract with the club. Bailly will leave the Turkish side just six months into his £80,000-a-week contract.
The Ivorien center-back joined the Turkish giants as a free agent from Manchester United in June 2023. He signed a one-year contract and was expected to see out 2023/24 Super Lig season with the club. Hence, the contract termination comes as a surprise.

Besiktas confirmed the decision to part ways with the 29-year-old in a club statement which maintains the club mutually reached the agreement to terminate his contract.
"The contract with Eric Bailly, the player of our first team, has been terminated by mutual agreement.
"We wish Eric Bailly success in his career. Regards. Besiktas JK"
As per The Sun, Bailly's contract was terminated because Besiktas deemed the Ivorien, and four other first team players as 'incompatible' and not good enough for the team.
Bailly's agent Raphael Pimenta insisted Besiktas are extremely unfair for releasing Eric Bailly in their controversial overhaul of the team.
Pimenta argued Bailly did not have enough time to prove himself for the club due to injuries hence lumping him with other underperforming players is a biased judgement at best.

The renowned football agent, who is also managing Erling Haaland, added he is bracing to take action against Besiktas as his client's right has been violated.
“We are shocked and it took us by surprise.
"We are preparing our reaction since we know Eric has done nothing wrong.
"The player's rights are being violated and we will make sure to protect him," Pimenta fumed.
Other Besiktas players released with Bailly are former Al Nassr and Cameroon forward Vincent Aboubakar, Jean Onana, Valentin Rosier, and Rachid Ghezzal.
Nsmnews understands the release of the five players are due to the ongoing reshuffling and overhaul of Besiktas under the auspices of the club's new president Hasan Arat.
In a quote shared by AFP, Arat had insisted 'it is his number one priority to overhaul the squad and put up a better team with more signings.'
Eric Bailly's former club Villarreal are among clubs reportedly interested in signing the former Manchester United defender.
