Nigerian billionaire and philanthropist Femi Otedola gifts a whopping sum of 1 million naira to each student of Augustine University as he becomes the university's vice-chancellor.
The 60-year old was installed as the new vice-chancellor of Augustine University, a private university in Ilara-Epe, Lagos State yesterday at its 5th convocation ceremony for graduands and handover ceremony succeeding the former vice-chancellor Professor Christopher Odetunde.
Celebrating his new post, the business mogul took to his social media handle to announce his inauguration as the vice-chancellor of the university and also announce his donation of N750M to all 750 students in the university.
In his address, Femi Otedola said he strongly believes in transforming establishments he is associated with. Therefore, he decided to give back to the school by donating to the parents of the students to relieve them of the current situation in the country.
He wrote, "Today, I was inaugurated as the Chancellor of Augustine University. I strongly believe in transforming establishments that I am associated with.
I gave a gift of one million to each of the seven hundred and fifty students. I hope this donation of seven hundred and fifty million naira assists the plight of the parents of our students in this difficult time."
