Chelsea were rampant against Leicester City in the quarter-finals, stealing the show late on at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues recorded victory through goals from Marc Cucurella, Cole Palmer alongside Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke deep into stoppage time.

Axel Disasi made an unfortunate error putting the ball into his own net to halve the deficit whilst Chelsea were 2 goals up.

In the 62nd minute, Stephy Mavididi scored an amazing goal following some excellent stutter steps and a culminating curler.

Both sides were level until stoppage time when Chukwuemeka and Madueke made the difference for the Blues.

Carney Chukwuemeka scored in the 2nd minute of stoppage time, whilst Madueke did a wonderful run beating several players of Leicester City with some delightful dribbles, before hitting a quaking shot from 25 yards out.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are one step away from another cup final and they will be looking to win the trophy this time around.

They have been handed Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the semis and truly the game is expected to be electrifying.

The Cityzens defeated Newcastle United 2-0 in their quarter-final fixture, courtesy of a brace from Bernardo Silva.

The defending champions are favorites to win the trophy, but they will need to cross the hurdle of Chelsea before they begin building hopes of defending the crown.

Mauricio Pochettino has made Chelsea thick in cup competitions and they have made it to the latter stages of the cup competitions they are involved in since the Argentine took over.

Having lost the Carabao Cup in the final to Liverpool, the Blues know that they have it all to do in appeasing and pacifying their fans by winning this competition.

Certainly, it will be difficult, but Chelsea will need to wave a magic wand to sink their foes remaining in the competition.

The Blues have faced Manchester City twice this campaign, with both explosive games ending in a draw.

The last time Chelsea clashed against Pep Guardiola's side in the FA Cup was in January 2023, with the Cityzens hammering the Stamford Bridge club with 4 unreplied goals.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino's side return to action on Saturday, March 30, 2024, facing Burnley, in a matchday 30 Premier League affair.

Chelsea sit 11th on the Premier League table, with 39 points from 27 matches and their best shot at European football could be through the FA Cup.

If the London side does win the FA Cup, they will be participating in the UEFA Europa League - a competition which they have won on 2 different occasions.

The Blues haven't had the best of seasons, however, they will be looking to end the 2023/24 campaign on a high.

It will be fascinating to see if they will end the season with silverware, having ended the 2022/23 season without a trophy.
