The Champions League Round of 16 ended with intensity and good football. Borussia Dortmund defeated PSV 2-0 and qualified on a 3-1 aggregate win against the Dutch giant.

Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, defeated 2023 Champions League finalist Inter Milan via penalties, with Jan Oblak being the hero of the game after he saved three penalties.

Borussia Dortmund (2-0) PSV


Jadon Sancho opened the score sheet in the 6th minute of the game against PSV. It was a beautiful strike from the English star who is looking forward to returning to the top of his game.

Borussia Dortmund almost capitalized on the lead but couldn't do that, with PSV goalkeeper Walter Benitez saving the ball from going into the net twice.

PSV, who had been far behind in the game, got the first shot on goal in the game through Johan Bakayoko.

In an attempt to get a goal, PSV attacker Hirving Lozano hit the ball from 25 yards, and it beat the goalkeeper. It couldn't go into the net as the attempt hit the goalpost.

Due to PSV putting more players in front, Borussia Dortmund had a goal attempt, but it was saved by PSV goalkeeper Benitez.


Bakayoko forced Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Kobel into a save. Nicolas Fullkrug scored for Borussia Dortmund to extend their lead, but it was chalked out for offside.

Borussia Dortmund secured the quarterfinal spot in the Champions League after Marco Reus scored in the 95th minute of the game.

Atletico Madrid (2-1) Inter Milan

Atletico Madrid's first attempt came in the fifth minute of the match, with Samuel Lino's powerful shot from the right side of the pitch.

Inter Milan forced Oblak into a save with a Denzel Dumfries shot from the right side of the pitch.

Inter Milan almost had a goal in the 18th minute of the match, with Lautaro Martinez trying the ball from the 30-yard box, but it was not enough to beat Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak.


Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata saw a chance to score the first goal for the Spanish side, but his attempt was saved by Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

Inter Milan drew the first blood, with Nicolo Barella creating a chance for Federico DiMarco, who wasted no time in putting the ball into the back of the net.

A few minutes after the Inter Milan goal, Atletico Madrid equalized through Antoine Griezmann, who had been silent in the game.

Earlier in the second half, Atletico Madrid's all-time highest goal scorer, Griezmann, hit the ball from a long distance, but it was not able to go past Yann Sommer.

Morata had a chance to put the ball in the net, but the Spanish striker went sideways with his attempt.

Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram found himself in a one-on-one situation, but he blasted the ball over the goalpost in the second half of the game. Memphis Depay hit the ball from the edge of the box, but his attempt hit the goalpost.

A few minutes later, Memphis Depay scored the second goal for Atletico Madrid.

Inter Milan striker Thuram missed the second big chance of the game. He was completely unmarked in the 18-yard box.

Atletico Madrid qualified for the Champions League quarterfinals after defeating Inter Milan. Jan Oblak saved three penalties to help the Spanish giants qualify.
