Popular artist, Brymo, has revealed how he feels about losing the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA awards).

Ọlawale Ashimi is popularly known as Brymo. He is a Nigerian musician, author and sonic artist.

The AFRIMA award which was rescheduled to hold January 2023 was the 8th edition.

Brymo was nominated for 2 categories which are 'Best Songwriter of the Year,' and 'Best Album of Year.' But he lost them.

Recently during an interview, he was asked how he felt about this especially since during that period of the nominations, he has some petitions filed against him.

Thousands of people signed a petition to strip him of his nomination following an incident when he made a comment about Igbo people.

This happened towards the time building up to the elections in Nigeria.

Brymo said something about igbos of Nigeria saying they didn't deserve to have a claim to the presidency.

Many people came out to criticize him over such a comment but the sonic artist remained silent.

It was then a man named Charles Ogundele decided to launch a petition against him and they called for his nomination to be revoked.

During the interview he mentioned that he looked forward to winning and he doesn't believe his loss had to do with the petition but other factors.

He mentioned it had nothing to do with this issue but only coincided.

He mentioned how he had announced prior to the award that he was no longer a musician but a sonic artist.

This meant he wasn't eligible for such an award meant for musicians.
