The outgoing President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has given directives to all government officials to declare their assets.

This happened yesterday which was a Friday. He told the outgoing vice president Yemi Osinbajo alongside other officials to declare their assets.

He gave directives to all the outgoing officials to collect this asset declaration form and fill it then return it.

This is a constitutional requirement. The president himself received his Declaration of Assets Form from the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Prof. Isah Mohammed.

It was given to him at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

All public office holders are required to declare their assets before taking office as in line with the constitution.

Buhari is maintaining this rule of declaring assets before and after taking office strictly.

He said this is so as to ensure moral standards in Public Service, and also build integrity and remove any trace of corruption.

President Buhari revealed that no one is excluded from this activity of declaration of asset as it is a Constitutional requirement.
