Buhari moves out of residence in Aso Rock.
President Muhammadu Buhari has moved out of his official residence in Aso Rock.
The place he was staying is the presidential Villa in Aso Rock.
He moved to the Glass House, which is a temporary structure that has been serving as a residence for outgoing presidents. This has been in place since 1991.
The President moved out of the Villa so as to allow the ongoing maintenance work at the place to continue.
Recall some work has been done at Aso Rock in preparation of the incoming president.
They are preparing the place to welcome the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the 29th of May.
Almost all of Buhari’s aides have also begun to move their personal items out of the place. This is so that there will be space for the incoming aides of the new president.
As part of the maintenance work, they are repainting the place, doing some cleaning and fumigation around.
The first Lady, Aisha Buhari shared a short video on her Instagram page she revealed that this Glass House is where They are residing now.
She was showing Senator Oluremi Tinubu who is the incoming First Lady, around the residence.
She mentioned that this Glass House should continue to serve as the residence of outgoing presidents and the families.
The president who also began to move out mentioned that they didn't want to wait for the security officer to come for them.
They also didn't want to wait until the new people came to the villa before moving out.
One of the aides mentioned that everything they packed were personal items and things that were not purchased with government funds.
