Buhari set to attend King Charles III’s coronation in London

The President of Nigeria, Major General Muhammadu Buhari is set to attend King Charles III’s coronation in London.

He was to leave Abuja, Nigeria yesterday, Wednesday, May 3rd 2023.

He will be joining other leaders in the world who were invited to London for the event.

Recall Queen Elizabeth II died late last year and King Charles III, her son ascended the throne immediately after. This was also in September 2022.

The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina in a statement on Wednesday revealed that the secretariat of the Commonwealth has seized this opportunity of the world leaders gathering together for this ceremony and host a Commonwealth Summit for Presidents and also the Heads of Government of Commonwealth countries.

This will take place on Friday which is the 5th of May.

This statement revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari was going to be in attendance for the coronation of King Charles in London.

It also revealed that Buhari will be participating in this Commonwealth Summit.

A few people will be following the President for this journey and they include Boss Mustapha who is the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture; the National Security Adviser, who is Maj-Gen Babagana Monguno (retd.) And few others.

The Chairperson/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa will also be in attendance with the president.
