Burna Boy losses all nominations at BET Hip-hop awards

Popular Nigerian musician Burna Boy has lost all his nominations in the 2023 BET Hip-hop awards. The Grammy award winning Nigerian singer had a total of 7 nominations in various music categories at this awards show but lost all 7 to other artists.

The BET Hip-Hop Awards event was held at the Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center and this was on the 3rd of October, 2023. The event was broadcast on Tuesday night which was the 10th of October, 2023.

The List of nominations he received include,
  1. Hip Hop Artist of the Year
  2. Lyricist of the Year
  3. Best Live Performer of the Year
  4. Hustler of the Year
  5. Best Collaboration of the Year
  6. Best Hip Hop Video
  7. Song of the Year
He lost the nominations for Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Lyricist of the Year and Best Live Performer of the Year categories to Kendrick Lamar who is an American rapper. He also lost the nomimation for Hustler of the Year to another artist known as 50 Cent and the Best Collaboration of the Year Lil Durk and J. Cole’s song titled ‘All My Life.’ he lost Best Hip Hop Video and Song of the Year to Lil Uzi Vert.

American artist Kendrick Lamar was the one who the most awards of the night. He won awards in 4 categories including hip hop artist of the year, lyricist of the year, best live performer and video director of the year.

His real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu. He goes by his stage name which is Burna Boy. He is a famous singer, songwriter and record producer. He became famous after the release of his song titled Like to Party in 2012.
