Amidst several negative reviews trailing Burna Boy's album, he has managed to convince his critics that indeed he is an African giant.

This was announced by Martin Talbot, UK albums chart executive on Friday.

Burna Boy is the first African artist to achieve this milestone and his album I TOLD THEM is the first African album to hit No. 1 on the chart.

The self-acclaimed African Giant has had an outstanding run in his musical career since he pivoted into mainstream media with his viral single Ye.

Ever since, he has maintained the position as one of the leading forces in the Nigerian entertainment industry with his artistic prowess and Afro-fusion sound.

I TOLD THEM is Burna Boy's seventh studio album following his first album in 2013 titled L.I.F.E.
