Burnley manager Vincent Kompany is apparently unfazed with the constant fallouts between Premier League managers and match officials.
So far this season, the Premier League has been a tale of remonstrating managers taking the touchline histrionics to the next level.
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, Steve Cooper of Nottingham Forest, Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton, Marco Silva of Fulham, to mention but a few have seen their emotions take charge on the technical area during matches.
Before the start of the season, the Premier League introduced new rules to further strengthen match officials to discipline erring managers for dissent.
While bookings for managers have increased with a few games to the season, it appears the Premier League are yet to nib the histrionics in the technical area in the bud.
Burnley manager Vincent Kompany seemed apparently unfazed by the constant fallouts at the dugout and wants stiffer penalties against defaulting managers.
Speaking with Daily Mail, Kompany challenged his fellow Premier League managers to stop abusing referees and forcing other managers to react unnecessarily.
‘Stop Abusing Referees’, Kompany said: ‘If we’re in a position where others might get an advantage, it becomes really difficult for us not to mimic the behaviour, although we don’t want to.
‘I’ve tried my whole life not to, but it’s difficult. If the League are hard and make a decision that they won’t accept abuse any more, and no team can gain an advantage out of it, then it will stop.
Kompany's comment came when Mikel Arteta is currently facing charges for calling Stuart Attwell's decision "a disgrace" while Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi dropped a bombshell on English referees staying he doesn't like 80% of them.
