Influencer Caramel Plug has finally opened up on the situation surrounding the IG vendor Ruchy's arrest yesterday on social media.
She shared a statement on her page yesterday confirming that she didn't buy the dress which orchestrated the drama from Ruchy. She bought it from another IG vendor known as Yayi's collections.
She went on to clarify that Ruchy was only invited by the police for questioning. It wasn't a deliberate attempt to arrest her. She started to create a scene and refused to stay calm.
In the process, her boyfriend joined her and this attracted the attention of passersby. In no time, a crowd gathered and she began to scream. This was what led to her arrest. Her boyfriend was also arrested for shoving a police officer.
According to Caramel, she tried to settle things with Ruchy at the police station but she didn't agree after she was asked to take down her tweets and debunk the fake news.
Ruchy was also asked to provide evidence that Caramel bought the dress from her or gave her the dress for free but she couldn't provide any.
The next day, she was charged to court for defamation and public disorder and she pleaded not guilty. She was later granted bail of N100k with two sureties.
Caramel revealed that the case is still in court and the hearing has been fixed for September. In her words, she said, "I cannot wait till justice is served."
