Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly offered Croatian legend Luka Modric a chance to join his coaching staff for next season in case he decides to hang up his boots.

It was revealed that the football star was given an opportunity to join the Real Madrid coaching staff in January 2024, but the midfielder rejected the offer.

However, people who are close friends with the midfielder believe he didn't totally close the door on becoming part of the coaching staff. Modric is also anticipating becoming a Real Madrid manager in the future.

The former Ballon d'Or winner is still playing at the age of 38, although, due to his lack of playing time at the club, the midfielder is considering moving to another football club, with the Saudi Arabia Pro League monitoring his situation.

Modric is currently competing with youngsters at the club, including the likes of Brahim Diaz, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, and Aurelien Tchouameni, who start games for the Los Blancos ahead of him.

Despite his limited start this season, Modric scored a goal and created six assists in 28 matches for Real Madrid. In addition, he is running down to the final six months of his contract.

Ancelotti hinted that the midfielder may continue for another year. The midfielder is not ready to retire, believing he still has a lot in his tank to continue playing at the highest level.

He still wants to win trophies before considering hanging his boot in the future. The former Dinamo Zagreb midfielder joined Real Madrid in 2012 and proceeded to make 516 appearances in all competitions.

He has contributed 38 goals and 83 assists at the club during that period. He won a staggering 23 trophies, which include five Champions League titles and three La Liga titles.

The 38-year-old midfielder was among the eight Real Madrid players to have won the Ballon d'Or and one of the two players to be named the Best FIFA Player of the Year alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
