She had stopped using Ikeja Electricity for over a year due to this reason but recently had to reconnect. She had installed over two prepaid meters in her office, but each kept burning after a few months of usage. So, she was left with no choice but to reconnect to the Ikeja Electricity, and now, she is facing the consequences.
She had to speak up because the bills kept getting outrageous. Last month's bill was N883k, and she was instructed to pay the debt owed by the previous owner of her office. Now, the bills sum up to over N1.4 million, which she is struggling to raise.
Thowbie Makeovers said she never thought a day would come when she would shed tears on camera. But the electricity bills are becoming too overwhelming and starting to frustrate her.
