Chef Lata Tondon who is the current title holder for the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time has pleaded with Nigerians not to turn this into a competition.

Chef Lata is an Indian chef who won the longest cooking time record in 2019 with 87 hours and 45 minutes.

This is the record Nigerian chef Hilda Baci attempted to beat and succeeded. Hilda Baci set her own record at 100 hours and some minutes.

The original plan was to get to 96 hours but she then pushed further and hit a 100 hours.

Chef Lata Tondon wished Hilda well while the marathon was still ongoing. She has now appealed to Nigerians to wait calmly for the Guinness World Record to officially confirm this achievement.

Nigerians have been demanding to know why the Guinness World Record hasn't acknowledged this or announced this officially but they said they want to review the evidence before setting the record.

Some Nigerians also went to Chef Lata's Instagram to share some comments to which she had to reply to.

She mentioned that it was not a competition but only a record.

She then urged everyone to wait patiently for the record to be confirmed.
