Chelsea are plotting a shock move for prolific attacking duo Roberto Firmino and Karim Benzema, Matt Law reports.

The Blues are reportedly exploring avenues to spice up their attack as the January transfer window opens. Senegal forward Nicolas Jackson has not had a dismal career start at Stamford Bridge. However, the former Villarreal forward's benchmarks for the Blues have left much to be desired.

As per Matt Law, Chelsea are now considering going for Liverpool legend Roberto Firmino and Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema to boost the club's attack and arrest the numb in front.

Firmino and Benzema are reportedly struggling to adapt to the footballing environment in Saudi Arabia after completing a switch from Europe to the oil-rich state.

Firmino joined Al-Ahli on a three-year contract until 2026. The former Liverpool forward started his career with the Saudi outfit with a bang, scoring a hat-trick but has since struggled with a dragging goal drought that has seen him fail to add to the tally in 15 games.

Karim Benzema is also battling to adjust to life with league champions Al-Ittihad. The former Real Madrid forward deactivated his social media handle after Al-Ittihad lost Saudi Pro League match to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr.

With just six months into their contract, sources close to Firmino and Benzema have revealed they are open to a return to Europe on a possible loan deal.

Chelsea are reportedly hoping to leverage the chance and sign the duo on loan to the Premier League if Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad sanction the move.

The move could see Roberto Firmino return to the Premier League with Karim Benzema back to Europe.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are said to be facing competition from Manchester United who are also eyeing Karim Benzema to pair with Rasmus Hojlund and Fulham who are keen on signing Roberto Firmino.
