Samantha Kerr's lawyers are set to contest an abuse of process at a pre-trial hearing on April 26, 2024.
The legal representative of the former Perth Glory star is seeking to have the charges reduced or dropped.
The hearing in April 2024 comes following a trial, which was slated for February 2024.
Anyway, via a statement on Friday, March 8, 2024, FA chief executive James Johnson stated the Australia FA's position in standing firmly behind Samantha Kerr.
James Johnson said: "Sam has pleaded not guilty and her right to a fair and just legal process is important," he said.
“We trust the judicial system to handle this matter appropriately and urge respect for the legal proceedings.”
He added that they are in touch with the footballer and expressed their commitment to support her throughout the legal proceedings.
Johnson said: “We are in touch with Sam and her team and Football Australia is committed to supporting Sam throughout this process.”
