Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu emerges as the new President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo.

He is replacing the late Prof. George Obiozor who passed on last year in December after his illness.

Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is a Nigerian politician and businessman.
It was Dr Alex Ogbonnia who is The National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, that disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, April 20.

He mentions that as a necessity after the death of the late Prof George, Obiozor had given directives that they find a replacement to fill the post of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

The imo state Council of elders has then presented Chief Iwuanyanwu as a candidate to fill this post. The Imo State Council of Elders is led by Eze Ilomuanya and they were the ones who presented the new President General.

They presented him to Gov. Hope Uzidimma for approval. He is to finish the tenure of the past president General who was the late Prof. George Obiozor.

He described chief Iwuanyanwu as a purpose driven, dynamic and versatile person.

They mentioned he is a brave soldier who is capable and an excellent philanthropist and has the required characteristics of someone to fill this post.

Mr Ogbonnia has mentioned that a president General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, must have the courage to condemn a governor or any officer who has gone against the public norms or the interest of the Igbo.

They also explained all the things he must be able to achieve while in office or post.

He must also be able to put the interest of all above his own interests.
