Popular reality TV star Doyinsola David has a little advice for parents who allow their children to speak their native language before learning British English.
Doyin shared her opinion during her show, Doyin's Corner with Daniel Regha. Doyin said she finds it annoying when toddlers speak pidgin English because it affects their diction. She explained that there are certain opportunities available for someone with good speaking skills which isn't the same for the other.
She added that once children start speaking pidgin, it becomes difficult for them to speak good English because of the accent. Doyin advised parents to teach their children to speak good English because it will benefit them in the long run.
