China denies claims of opening a Police Station in Nigeria.
Not long after news broke out on the Internet about China opening up police stations in Nigeria, the Republic of China has come out to deny such reports. They claim the news released is false news..
Just recently, the news spread that China opened police stations in Nigeria and in over 20 countries in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa and this was to curb the increasing crime rate in countries where the Chinese stay.
Reports state that the police stations were created to fight “all kinds of illegal and criminal activities involving Chinese in the Diaspora.”
The Chinese official, Zhang Hang, the Chinese Embassy Press Officer who spoke about the issue mentioned that they introduced outreaches in the countries where Chinese citizens are residing. He mentioned that this was in order to protect their people from all forms of crimes that may put them in harm's way.
He added that China has no intentions of establishing or running a police station in Nigeria or other countries.
