Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) has fast-tracked the appointment of Adam Rymer as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Jamie McConnell as Chief Accounting and Administrative Officer, both effective October 1, 2024. This strategic move aims to ensure continuity and strong leadership within the company.

Adam Rymer, a seasoned 15-year veteran at Chipotle, will step into his new role as CFO, joining the executive leadership team and reporting directly to Scott Boatwright, the Interim Chief Executive Officer. Rymer, who previously served as Vice President of Finance, has been instrumental in overseeing Corporate Finance, Field Finance, and Investor Relations, positioning him as a key figure in driving the company’s financial strategy forward.

Jamie McConnell, with six years of experience at Chipotle, will take on the role of Chief Accounting and Administrative Officer. Reporting to Rymer, McConnell will manage Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax, Internal Audit, and other critical functions. Her prior role as Vice President, Controller, provided her with deep insights into the company’s financial operations, making her well-suited for this expanded role.

The appointments come as former Chief Financial and Administrative Officer Jack Hartung transitions to the role of President and Chief Strategy Officer. Hartung will remain with the company indefinitely, offering his extensive experience and strategic vision during this period of change.

In a statement, Rymer expressed his commitment to driving growth and value for Chipotle’s stakeholders, emphasizing the significant opportunities ahead for the brand. The Board of Directors has also established retention plans for the entire executive leadership team to ensure stability and continuity during this critical transition.

Chipotle, known for its commitment to serving responsibly sourced, real food without artificial additives, operates over 3,500 restaurants globally.
