Nollywood actress Regina Daniels' husband Senator Ned Nwoko proffers a solution to the insecurity in the country as he suggests that civilians should be allowed to handle firearms.
In a recent interview, Ned Nwoko said he is sponsoring a bill that will enable citizens of Nigeria to carry firearms. He stated that unlike in America, where citizens are allowed to own a license to guns, Nigeria doesn't permit that. He said certain conditions can be laid down for this to happen.
For this to materialize, Ned Nwoko proposed that every local government area must have a shooting school to train people on the use of firearms. After they have passed this stage, the citizens will go to the traditional ruler from their place of origin to verify their indigene. Then they will go to two medical doctors to issue a letter of sanity to confirm that they are mentally stable. The DPO of the local government will also verify the person's criminal record to know if he or she is entitled to a gun.
