Crayon shares how he was depressed in 2015 because he couldn't get into university
Popular Nigerian singer Crayon has shared how he was in a state of depression in 2015 when he was unable to help into the university. Crayon is a Mavins Record artiste and he is known popularly for his song ijo, overloading and Ngozi.
His real name is Charles Chibueze Chukwu but he is popularly known as Crayon. He shared that he had been depressed back in 2015 when he was struggling to gain admission into the university.
He shared this during a recent interview with Cool FM. He recalled that it had been hard getting admission and it affected his mental health leading to depression. This was further fueled when all his friends were gaining admission into school and he wasn't.
He said "I think it was because I couldn't get into the University. All my friends were in school and at the time I was really close with my friends and I was the youngest of all my friends. Whenever they were around, it was always fun but everybody got admission into the university. Some were in Ghana, some were in Benin".
He days life was really lonely and boring for him after his friends had gone to their various Universities. He shared that he also wasn't passing his JAMB and had written it five different times.
"So it was just me alone in the hood and it was so boring. I had nowhere to go and nothing to do. Even my footballing career wasn't taking off at the time."
He eventually brokeout in his music career in May 2019 after he was signed to Don Jazzy's Mavin Records.
