The Riyadh-based club drew blank with Persepolis in Asian Champions League in their first draw in the tournament after a perfect start to the campaign.

They were dealt a further blow late in the second half when Cristiano Ronaldo was forced off the game in the 78th minute with an injury blow.

A grim footage of Ronaldo's injury scare showed the Portuguese star plunged to the ground and groaning with pain while grabbing his neck.

As reported by Sportskeeda, Persepolis goalkeeper had stepped on the neck of the Man United legend while aiming for a high ball.

It wasn't looking good for the five times Ballon d'Or winner as Al Nassr coach had to immediately subbed him off with 12 minutes left in the game.

Ronaldo was immediately attended to in Al Nassr medical unit and it has been confirmed he suffered a minor fracture.

Against fears of a possible lengthy layoff, Cristiano is now expected to shake off the neck injury and feature in Al Nassr's crunch tie against domestic rivals Al Hilal in Saudi Pro League on Friday.

Cristiano Ronaldo is known for his near-perfect fitness history. He rarely drops off the game on injury layoff, and is still on top of his game even at 38.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been prolific for Al Nassr this season in Saudi Pro League and AFC Champions League.

He is topping the chart of Saudi Pro League highest goalscorers this season with 15 goals and 7 assists in 13 matches.

In 5 AFC Champions League matches, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldo has made 5 goal contributions with 3 goals and 2 assists.

He is among the four elite strikers (Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, and Cristiano Ronaldo) in major leagues with over 40 goals in 2023. Despite 2023 Ballon d'Or snub, Ronaldo is leading the list of 2023 nominees for the Globe Soccer awards - an award he has clinched 7 times.
