Popular Nigerian actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande has revealed how she struggled with Postpartum depression. She shared her story with PD and revealed how her journey has been to recovery.

Dakore Egbuson-Akande is a popular Nigerian actress and she is well known for her roles in some popular movies like Fifty, Chief Daddy and Isoken.

She revealed this information during a recent interview on a podcast which is hosted by Chude.

She revealed how she struggled mentally with this challenge that came with becoming a mother.

She also mentioned that she had some complications after she gave birth to her daughter. She says she was in a sad state and then entered depression and she didn't even realize it.

She says it was when she spoke with an older friend that she realised what was happening.

She then sought professional help and it was confirmed by her OB/GYN.

She said she just realised she was happy, she was also sad and would have some mood swings too.

She then went to a therapist who helped her through the process and she began to engage with the activities she loved which she had neglected in spring depressed state.

She says all these helped with her recovery and slowly with support, was able to return to acting and could regained control over herself.
