Dangote Refinery opens May 22nd

Dangote Refinery which is a subsidiary of Dangote group. They are to begin operations today, Monday, May 22, 2023.

The Dangote Refinery was established by Aliko Dangote who the the chairman of Dangote group and is also known as the Richest man in Africa. He also holds global rankings of being the richest black man in the world.
He is also the 65th richest person in the world.

This new facility has the capacity to process 650,000 barrels of oil per day.

It was structured to process crude oil grades from three continents which include Africa, America and Asia.

The structure of this refinery was made this way so as to meet up to the 100% fuel supply requirement of Nigeria.

They refine crude oil into petroleum products which are usable in the country.

From processing this amount of oil barrels, they would deliver about 38 million litres of petrol, kerosene diesel, and aviation fuel for Nigeria on a daily basis.

This refinery would also support the establishment of a total number of 26,716 filling stations in Nigeria. This will in turn create 100,000 jobs both directly and indirectly.

It would also provide a $21bn market for Nigerian crude oil on an annual basis.

Recall earlier that the inauguration of this refinery was set for the 22nd of May which is today. The presidential aid, Bashir Ahmad, revealed that president Buhati would handle the Inauguration.

This refinery is located in Dangote Industries Free Zone, Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos State.
