Dangote truck crashes into shops and kills 3 traders
A dangote truck has reportedly crashed into shops in Ogun State and 3 people have been confirmed dead.
The people who died are said to be either traders or others around. This accident happened yesterday, March 14 2023.
The said truck was carrying bags of cement when it lost control and hit those shops.
This happened yesterday evening at about 7:35pm around the Toll Gate in Ota in Ogun State.
Sources said the accident included the said truck and a motorcycle
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) also confirmed this accident.
They said that a total of six people were involved in the accident.
There were two male adults and four female adults.
Ms Florence Okpe who is the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State gave this report.
She said that it is suspected that the cause of the accident is excessive speed, brake failure and loss of control.
She also explained that this Dangote truck was descending from a slope when the brakes of the vehicle failed. The truck then lost control and crashed into shops around.
Mr Ahmed Umar who is the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun state has sympathized with the injured and the family of the victims.
He then gave advice to those who own vehicles to carry out regualt maintenance.
