Nigerian singer Davido and his team visit Times Square to support Nigerian chess master Tunde Onakoya for his Guinness World Record attempt.

Tunde Onakoya began his attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest unbeaten chess marathon by a single individual on Wednesday, 17th April 2024 at Times Square, New York. Tunde Onakoya has spent 40 hours out of his allocated 58 hours. The exercise is scheduled to end on Friday, April 19th, 2024.

Nigerians home and abroad have drummed support for Tunde Onakoya. Celebrities like Funke Akindele, and Femi Adebayo and politicians like Gov. Dapo Abiodun, Gov. Sanwo-Olu, Omoyele Sowore, VP Kashim Shettima, Yemi Osinbajo, and others have sent their best wishes to him online.

In a recent video, Davido visited Tunde Onakoya at Times Square after his show at Madison Square Garden. The crowd gathered in excitement as Davido and Tunde Onakoya exchanged hugs.
