Davido, Rema listed among 100 most Notable Peace Icons in Africa

Popular Nigerian musician Davido has been listed among the 100 most Notable Peace Icons in Africa. David Adeleke who is known as Davido was listed alongside many others as Notable Peace Icons.

Rema who is also a Nigerian musician appeared on the list as well. He and some others were listed in the “Peace building row call” on Friday, 18th of August and this was in Abuja. An unveiling news conference was held in Abuja yesterday where the names of these icons were revealed.

Many Nigerians featured on this list as peace Notable Icons and some of them include
  1. Former Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osibanjo
  2. Former President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan;
  3. President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina.
  4. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome who is an evangelist
  5. Sultan of Sokoto
  6. The Olu of Warri
  7. Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah
  8. Nigerian comedian AY Makun
Others from Other countries in Africa include the president of Rwanda, Paul karate, Ghanaian actor John Dumelo and the president of Kenya, William Ruth Cyril Ramaphosa.

The project director for the 100 most Notable Peace Icons in Africa who is Ambassador Kinsley Amafibe revealed that these Peace Icons consist of various Afrucans who have used their resources, takents and positions to promote peace in Africa.

He revealed that these people are ones who have shown commitment to humanitarian initiatives, youth empowerment and others.
This was to acknowledge and praise the individuals who have played important roles to bring forth peace and change in Africa. They decided to honour them for their contributions.
