Popular Nigerian record executive Don Jazzy has revealed that it is his calling to help young artists Don Jazzy is a music and record executive in Nigeria. He is also a talent developer.
His real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, but he goes by the name Don Jazzy. He is the founder and Chief executive officer (CEO) of Mavin Records. He was the founder of Mo'Hits which is also a record label that's no longer in operation.
He has signed many artists in Mavin Records like the well-known Rema and Johnny Drille.
He revealed recently during an interview that his calling is to help young artists and be a star maker.
He shared this on a recent episode of a podcast which is hosted by Fisayo Fosudo.
He revealed how his priorities have changed over the years. He revealed that he had started as a musician but at some point went into different things.
He shared that he went into finding talents and growing these talents and young artists making them into stars.
He says he feels like he is just building the [Nigerian music] ecosystem generally. He says it's his calling to help these people grow and has been using his brand to impact many lives.
He revealed that he knows how to work with people and helping people is his conviction.
He revealed that when he started as a musician he was lost for some time and it took a while before he found his footing. He says when he sees young artists now, he says that if such a person doesn't find guidance they may be lost too.
He says it's good for someone who has gone through such before to help out.
