Bundesliga side Werder Bremen has signed a promising young footballer from the United States.

Ethan Kohler, an 18-year-old player, has successfully made the move from Oakland Roots to Bremen.

SV Werder Bremen announced on Saturday noon, June 17 that they have acquired a young talent from America.

Ethan is famous to be an ambitious player who possesses excellent vision and a deep understanding of the game.

So far, the 18-year-old has shown impressive development and possesses the ability to play both as a center-back and a number six.

Clemens Fritz, who is the head of scouting and professional football, explained that they view Ethan mainly as a number six and aim to further his development with their team.

Fritz said: “Ethan is a very ambitious player, with a good vision and a good understanding of the game.

“He has developed well so far and can play as a center-back as well as a number six. We see him primarily as a number six and want to continue his development with us.”

According to the club, the 18-year-old, who most recently played for Oakland Roots in the USL Championship, will start training with the U23s before regularly practicing with the first team starting from July 5th.

Fritz suggested that he should also receive playing time in the upcoming friendly matches for the U23s.

He added: “Our objective is to utilize Ethan in both the U19 and U23 teams.”

Ethan Kohler has spent several weeks in Bremen and has expressed interest in transferring to SVW.

He is eagerly anticipating his time with the team and according to him, the transfer from America to the German club is a dream come true.
