One of the Ikorudu boys has spoken about giving Mohbad a befitting burial. He said that no one must return Mohbad's corpse to Ikorodu because the artist doesn't deserve to be buried in such a lowly area.
Here is the translation of what he said in Yoruba. language. "Look here, Do not bring Mohbad's corpse to Ikorodu. That boy doesn't deserve to be buried in Gberigbe, Ikorodu. Don't you ever return him there. God has ordained for his body to be exhumed, therefore do not return him to Ikorodu. If you attempt it, we will deal with you all. Even if we, his fans, will contribute N500 each, to lay him to rest in a befitting place, we will do it. Burying him in Ikoyi cemetery is not uncalled for."
"And for the government, we haven't heard anything from you since Mohbad's body was exhumed. We will not relent. If after the two weeks, you people try to bury Mohbad's case, nobody will have peace of mind," he concluded.
As an Ikorodu indigene, Mohbad's body was previously laid to rest in one of the areas in his village. But many Nigerians were against burying the superstar in a village instead of one of Nigeria's famous cemeteries.
