Don't release any music this week, OAP Dotun advises artists
Nigerian music producer OAP Dotun hints music artists against releasing their song from the 24th of June to Saturday 29th and expects them to understand his reasons. According to him, the news of Davido's wedding has taken over the algorithm on all social media platforms, and any other thing being shared aside that is likely to struggle with gaining traction. If any musician is to drop their music within this crucial period, it would struggle with gaining traffic which affects the reach and engagement of their post.
Therefore, it is highly advisable to refrain from uploading any new music if they want their song to perform excellently.
While the music artists understood what traction meant in the music world, others saw OAP Dotun's advice as unreasonable for telling artists not to share their creativity because Davido's wedding is trending. They opined that Davido's wedding shouldn't prevent others from going about their pre-planned activity and asked Dotun to keep his advice to himself.
