The Nigeria Federal Government has declared Wednesday, September 27th, as a public holiday for all citizens to celebrate the Muslim Eid-ul-Maulid festival.
The holiday was declared to honor the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) by Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior. However, the official statement was released by Oluwatoyin Akinlafe, the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, who congratulated all the Muslim brethren both home and abroad for the anticipated occasion.
The statement further implored Nigerians to strive to celebrate the blessed day with love, perseverance, and patience for these are the attributes of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
He also urged all citizens to share their love towards their fellow humans irrespective of religion or background and support the Tinubu-led administration to make Nigeria a better place for all and sundry.
