Electricity transformer explodes in India, leading to the death of 15 people.


An Electricity transformer which exploded in India has led to the death of 15 people recently
Not less than this number of people have died in this explosion. The incident occurred just yesterday night, Tuesday.
These victims died from electrocution due to the explosion.

This incident happened on the banks of the Alaknanda river, located in Uttarakhand state, India. This was in Chamoli district.

Part of these victims as confirmed by the authorities are 5 home guards and a police officer.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, who is the chief minister of the state, has ordered an investigation into this incident. It was BBC who revealed that they have begun the investigation.

Other than those who died, not less than 15 people have also sustained injuries of varying degrees.
These people are at the district’s main hospital receiving medical treatment.

The superintendent of police of Chamoli, who is Pramendra Dobhal, revealed that it happened on Tuesday but the case was reported this morning, Wednesday.

When this transformer exploded, it had electrified a bridge which goes across this river.

They said they got a call from the village that a watchman had died of electrocution and they went to check it out. They said when they got there, they saw that 21 people had been electrocuted and were seriously injured. 15 other people had died.

This incident is such a sad one. More details to come later.
