Elon musk buys twitter

Elon musk, the richest man in the world has taken over the ownership of Twitter.
Elon tweeted "The bird is freed" after this takeover took place.
He made a deal worth $44 billion with Twitter. Finalizing the closure of the deal brought to an end the very long back and forth between Elon and the social media.
After Elon took over Twitter, he went ahead to fire some of the top executives, one of which included the chief executive Parag Agrawal, and also the company’s chief financial officer among others.

Elon musk had tweeted earlier in the day that he had decided to buy Twitter for a reason which was because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner.” he said

After the departure of these top executives, requests and questions were thrown to Twitter to address the issue but they didn't give an immediate reply.

Eventually, twitter's co-founder Biz Stone sent a thank you to the person's affected. He appreciated them for their contribution to Twitter.

At some point during the back and forth of this deal, Elon attempted to back out of the deal and he then mentioned in July that he was canceling the contract because he had been misled by Twitter for some reasons.

Twitter on the other hand refused to let him back out of the deal thinking he simply changed his mind. Twitter then filed a lawsuit to tie him down.

Eventually, Elon came out to say the deal was still on.

After the takeover, some employees who didn't want to work under him decided to leave while some decided to give him a chance and stayed.

The idea of Twitter being owned by Elon musk doesn't sit well with some people.
