The Ogun state government has taken significant steps to ease the financial burden faced by its public servants and pensioners following the removal of fuel subsidies. In an effort to mitigate the impact of this decision, the government has approved a cash palliative of N10,000 for each employee and retiree. This measure is expected to be in effect for an initial three-month period.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, conveyed this uplifting news through an official statement. The cash palliative is aimed at helping workers cope with the economic challenges arising from the fuel subsidy removal. Disbursement of these funds will commence in July. Additionally, the government plans to distribute food palliatives to vulnerable individuals in the state.
