The much anticipated match between Nigeria and England was played yesterday. This match kept many Nigerians on their toes and they were optimistic that the Super Falcons would beat the Lionesses.

Unfortunately, it took a different turn when the Super Falcons lost during the penalty shootout, while the Lionesses sealed a win of 4-2.

After the match, the Super Falcons team wore sad and gloomy faces as they struggled to come to terms with the fact that that was the end of the journey for them.

Feeling disappointed, Oparanozie wrote on her Twitter page, "Sad day! Very disappointing to have lost through penalties, and even more disappointing not to have converted mine. And for this I deeply apologize."
