The Red Devils opened their Champions League campaign with a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in Germany.

Their second game against Galatasaray ended in a nightmare as the Turkish champions came to Old Trafford and pulled off a shocker, salvaging all three points.

United's third match in the group nearly swung out of control as well. They scrapped out a win against Danish side FC Copenhagen but needed a last-minute heroics by Andre Onana to preserve the win.

Traveling to Denmark for the reverse fixture, United struggled against their lowly-rated opponents and stumbled to a 4-3 defeat despite taking an early two-goal lead.

Against Galatasaray in the fifth fixture, the Red Devils also scurried to a two-goal lead but squandered them to finally settle for a dramatic 3-3 draw.

In a group that has Bayern Munich, Galatasaray, and FC Copenhagen, United were tipped by pundits to progress from the group with Bayern to the next round of the competition but the opposite has been the case.

Bayern Munich have sealed their qualification to the next round but Manchester United is stuck bottom of the group with only one win, two defeats, and a draw.

Generally, it has been a disappointing outing for Man United fans but it appears Erik ten Hag shares a different opinion.

After the 3-3 draw against Galatasaray, Erik ten Hag Insisted Manchester United is in good shape and are improving.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, ten Hag said;

"I keep thinking this team is good. All the players in the squad and deserve the best to play for Manchester United because they are good players. And that counts for the whole squad.

ten Hag's comment is coming at the backdrop of a poor domestic and European campaign for Manchester United with his strikers struggling to find the back of the net.

Manchester United will take on Bayern Munich in the next clash and will need nothing less from a win to stand a chance of qualifying for round 16 of the tournament.
