Erik ten Hag has already expended over £400m on new signings since he joined Manchester United as new manager last summer. He has added new legs to the squad in the last three transfer windows but a recent injury crisis has crippled the team with more reinforcements needed.

Erik ten Hag has signed a striker, midfielders, and defenders but is left with a squad that has has been mangled with injury hence he will be expected to return to transfer market.

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United soon-to-be co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is ready to reimburse Erik ten Hag funds to fortify the squad with new young talents.

United particularly need reinforcement at the defense with Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez all sidelined.

Raphael Varane seems to have lost his starting berth with Harry Maguire now becoming a bold presence in the squad. Maguire has regained his starting berth and has become a big defensive cover for the Red Devils at the back.

However, sources close to the club have revealed Erik ten Hag still prioritize a new center-back to be signed in January.

Manchester United are 6th on the Premier League table with 21 points after 12 games. They are gradually emerging from the rubble of a slow start to the season to join the top four race.
