Erik Ten Hag's job as manager of Manchester United is apparently unshaken, having impressed new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Ten Hag is expected to remain as manager of the Red Devils until at least the end of the campaign, due to his team's impressive displays in recent weeks.

Manchester United's 4-3 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Liverpool eased Erik Ten Hag off some pressure and it has earned him some trust with Ratcliffe's INEOS group.

The FA Cup was the Red Devils' last chance of silverware this campaign and victory against rivals Liverpool was soothing to the new co-owners.

The victory meant that the campaign remains alive at least until the FA Cup semi-final weekend, with Manchester United battling Coventry City in the last 4.

The season will end in May 2024 and the Red Devils are on the cusp of reaching back-to-back FA Cup finals if they defeat their Championship opposition in the semis.

It is understood that the assessment of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his key partner, Sir Dave Brailsford, is that Ten Hag should be left at the helm until the end of the season, before any long-term decision is made concerning his future.

Erik Ten Hag is involved in important talks regarding the squad, and also making plans for the summer transfer window.

Ratcliffe and Brailsford wish to allow him maximum control, as they continue to assess his tactical input until the end of the campaign.

Ten Hag will have a year left on his deal with the English giants when the summer comes calling, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is aware that searching for a replacement could be herculean.

Reports in recent weeks have linked England boss Gareth Southgate with the top job at Manchester United, and it is understood that he is really admired by Ratcliffe and Brailsford.

Despite the interest in Southgate, it is believed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his group have full trust in Erik Ten Hag for the remainder of matches this season.

They understand the position of fans of the club, with some still in favor of the Dutchman remaining as Manchester United manager, while others want the former Ajax boss to be dismissed.

The Red Devils sit 6th on the Premier League table, with 47 points from 28 league matches, and they are 9 points away from Aston Villa, who sit 4th on the log with 56 points from 29 matches.

It is uncertain if one extra spot will be handed to the Premier League given the expansion of the competition from the 2024/24 season and as such, Manchester United must strive to finish in the top 4.

Erik Ten Hag's side are also 6 points behind 5th place Tottenham Hotspur, who have amassed 53 points from 28 matches.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils return to action on March 30, 2024, visiting Brentford at the GT Community Stadium, before subsequently visiting Chelsea on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

They also welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford on April 7, 2024, in a Matchday 32 Premier League affair.
