Eterna Plc Begins Direct Jet-A1 Fuel Operations at Lagos Airport

Key Milestone: Commencement of Jet-A1 Fueling Operations
Eterna Plc, a major integrated energy provider in Nigeria, has started its “into-plane Jet-A1 fuel operations” at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. This marks a significant achievement in the company’s aviation fueling sector. The operation comes after the commissioning of the Joint User Hydrant Installation 2 (JUHI-2), a facility with a storage capacity of 15 million liters of Jet-A1 fuel, the type used to power aircraft.

Commitment to Aviation Excellence
Eterna’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Abiola Lawal, expressed excitement about the company’s new capabilities in jet fuel operations. He affirmed the company’s dedication to delivering world-class, efficient, and reliable fueling services to both domestic and international airlines. According to Lawal, the commencement of these operations is a step towards reinforcing the company’s readiness to meet the evolving needs of the aviation sector.

Aviation Services Ready for Partnership
Aviation Commercial Manager at Eterna Plc, Boyede Oyegbami, emphasized that Eterna Aviation is officially open for business, aiming to form partnerships with airlines from around the globe. He highlighted Eterna’s safety and quality-focused approach to service delivery and extended an invitation for collaboration with airline operators.

Facility Capabilities and National Impact
The JUHI-2 facility, recently commissioned by the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Festus Keyamo, is the largest airside jet fuel depot in Nigeria. With the capacity to deliver 150 million liters of aviation fuel monthly, JUHI-2 represents a key infrastructure capable of handling 20% of Nigeria’s annual aviation fuel needs in just one month. This facility was established by a consortium of companies, including Eterna Plc, Masters Energy Oil & Gas, Techno Oil & Gas, and others.

Future Outlook
Eterna Plc sees this development as a crucial phase in the growth of its aviation business segment. The company is committed to providing value-added services to its customers, positioning itself as a leading player in Nigeria’s aviation fueling industry.
