Nigerian singer Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon, professionally known as Khaid, has taken a swipe at his senior colleague Burna Boy as he says every Afrobeats artiste has substance in them.
During a recent interview, Khaid said there is nowhere in the world presently that the genre Afrobeats isn't talked about.
Afrobeats has been in the conversation of music genres for the past few years and its impact has been seen in Africa and the rest of the world. With artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido at the forefront, the future of Afrobeats is safe and secure.
It is even safer with new generation artists like Rema, Fireboy DML, Asake among others who are pioneers of new sounds.
Contrary to singer Burna Boy's comment, Khaid said every artist has substance as far as he is concerned and every song they put out is good.
Recall that several weeks ago, Burna Boy was in the news for renouncing the genre Afrobeats, saying Afrobeats has no substance and artists should tap into their life experiences and pass meaningful messages with their songs.
